C25k Week 1

I'm so proud of myself. I started the 9-week, 5k run preparation program on Saturday. It requires you to do the 20 minute walk/run combination 3 days a week. I took care of my 3 days on Saturday, Monday, and yesterday. I may end up going today depending on how the body feels. Right now I'm sitting at my desk and the body is saying "NOOOOOO!!!". Regardless, I feel like I've done a great job. Typically, I'd find some type of excuse not to go to the gym. But even last night, an hour before the gym closed, I mustered up the energy to go. Admittedly, the 60 min run/ 90 min walk combination has become a tad bit easier but I'm concerned that just may be due to the fact that I started the program once before.

Not having to take care of school work has become somewhat boring. I'm going to start studying for the Series 65 this weekend. I'm also submitting my scholarship application tomorrow so I hope to begin studying for the Ministerial exam by the middle of next month.

The job hunt continues. Next week, I'm having my first interview for a teaching position. Although, there would be a little travel involved, I'm very excited about it and hoping that the college is as great as it sounds. I'm also going to put in for some teaching positions at some closer colleges. I've missed most of the application deadlines for the summer and fall but if I get everything in now, I'll have a head start for teaching in Sprin 2009.

All hail craigslist. I've known for some time that I wanted to see the Sox play the Cubs this year and of course failed to get tickets in time. But thanks to my second favorite site (next to ebay), I was able to locate some decent tickets and I'm hoping to get them from the guy this weekend. I'm still trying to determine how to verify that they are good before going through all the trouble. The summer is off to a great start.
