Per a radio personality, 25 individuals age 100 and over, were surveyed and asked what types of things you can do to ensure long life. These were their responses. Let's see how I measure up.
1) Never go to bed angry
Well on one end I'm angry at bedtime because I'm going alone. But on the other end, those married folks go to bed angry because they do have someone to go to bed with...LOL
2) If you smoke or drink, don't beat yourself up about it
No problemo here...no smoking or drinking for this chickedee
3) Never, ever get on an airplane
Ok, I guess I can give up old age. Does that mean that these old people have never left the country (besides Mexico)? I wonder how many years flying takes off your life...hmmm
4) Don't drive at night
Do these people work 9-5 jobs? By the time you get off work (at least a quarter of the year) its already dark. I'm not sure how that would work out.
5) Try to do something nice for somebody every day
Does not telling folks what you really think of them count? If so, I've got this one in the bag.
6) Don't let other people get under your skin
Ok, I've got this one covered everywhere except for work. I've got to get better.
7) Have lots of children and enjoy them
Oh, I can't wait until the day!
8) Don't worry all the time about money
This wouldn't be so difficult if I didn't have so many interests. What to eliminate??? Electronics? Traveling? I don't even want to think about it.
9) Take time to relax
I'm learning how to sit still. For some reason, I've developed this concept that if I'm not doing anything, I'm in the wrong. I feel like there is so much to do, how could I possibly do nothing. And even when I'm sitting still my mind is still going a hundred miles an hour. Going to get better though.
10) Don't second guess yourself
Most of the time, I've got this one under control. So hopefully that adds to the years that I lost in other areas.
