I saw this on R's blog and it sounded pretty fun. Only I had to make one small edit. First, I had to have my co-worker show me where the "shuffle" option is on my Ipod. Then I realized that I have the bible on my Ipod so I agree to only skip pass any bible options that should appear. Other than that, I'll list whatever pops up on shuffle.
The rules are simple:
1. Put Your Ipod/mp3 player or whatever you rock that has this function on "Shuffle".
2. For each question, press the next button to get your answer.
3. YOU MUST WRITE THAT SONG NAME DOWN NO MATTER WHAT!!!

Ok, this has made me realize a couple of things... (1) I need to get some stuff off of my Ipod. (2) My listening selections appear limited, but thats only because I still have over 100 CDs that I need to put on my Ipod...add that to the "to do" list.

Another one bites the dust
I'm not sure how to feel. In a way, I want to cry but at the same time, my head won't allow me to. Telling myself that it's no big deal and I didn't invest a lot to it anyway. But the truth is, its not that my heart was into it but that I can't figure out why I another man isn't interested in me.
Only a few days before we "met" I was thinking that I should open my horizons beyond the 30-something group of men. Rationalizing that someone in his early late 30s or early 40s would be mature and open about what he wanted and what he was willing to give. Like clock work this seemingly great 42 year old walks into my life and within 3 weeks, he's decided, without sharing his reasoning with me, that he's not interested in talking any longer. I guess that's the only think that I can call it since he refuses to respond to my messages.
Am I destined to be alone forever? Is there no one out there who is willing and able to love me? Or is Rosean right? No man wants, at first choice, a big girl...
Perhaps its my destiny. Not the destiny I want but maybe my hopes of meeting Mr. Right For Me just isn't a reality. Ugh. Back to focusing on school and a ton of other tasks to keep my mind off the fact that another year is coming to an end without a single date or prospect.

Economic Bailout Plan
Below is a copy of an email that I received today. As crazy as it sounds, it makes perfectly good sense. Hmmm...if I ruled the world....or maybe just the United States...lol
This idea sounds just crazy enough to possibly work, so naturally it won't be given serious consideration. How great is our bureaucracy!!
I'm against the $85,000,000,000.00 bailout of AIG. Instead, I'm in favor of giving $85,000,000,000 to America in a We Deserve It Dividend. To make the math simple, let's assume there are 200,000,000 bonafide U.S. Citizens 18+. Our population is about 301,000,000 +/- counting every man, woman and child. So 200,000,000 might be a fair stab at adults 18 and up.
So divide 200 million adults 18+ into $85 billion that equals $425,000.00. My plan is to give $425,000 to every person 18+ as a We Deserve It Dividend.
Of course, it would NOT be tax free. So let's assume a tax rate of 30%. Every individual 18+ has to pay $127,500.00 in taxes. That sends $25,500,000,000 right back to Uncle Sam. But it means that every adult 18+ has $297,500.00 in their pocket. A husband and wife has $595,000.00. What would you do with $297,500.00 to $595,000.00 in your family?
Pay off your mortgage - housing crisis solved.
Repay college loans - what a great boost to new grads
Put away money for college - it'll be there
Save in a bank - create money to loan to entrepreneurs.
Buy a new car - create jobs
Invest in the market - capital drives growth
Pay for your parent's medical insurance - health care improves
Enable Deadbeat Dads to come clean - or else
Remember this is for every adult U S Citizen 18+ including the folks who lost their jobs at Lehman Brothers and every other company that is cutting back. And of course, for those serving in our Armed Forces.
If we're going to re-distribute wealth let's really do it...instead of trickling out a puny $1000.00 ( 'vote buy' ) economic incentive that is being proposed by one of our candidates for President. If we're going to do an $85 billion bailout, let's bail out every adult U S Citizen 18+!
As for AIG - liquidate it. Sell off its parts. Let American General go back to being American General. Sell off the real estate. Let the private sector bargain hunters cut it up and clean it up.
Here's my rationale. We deserve it and AIG doesn't. Sure it's a crazy idea that can 'never work.' But can you imagine the Coast-To-Coast Block Party! How do you spell Economic Boom? I trust my fellow adult Americans to know how to use the $85 Billion We Deserve It Dividend more than I do the geniuses at AIG or in Washington DC.
And remember, This plan only really costs $59.5 Billion because $25.5 Billion is returned instantly in taxes to Uncle Sam.

Neeexxxttttt
In an attempt to mentally avoid the inevitable, I've prolonged signing and returning my separation documents. Somehow I've convinced myself that by not retuning them to HR someone changes the fact that my last day is the 31st of this month. Although I've been applying and posting my resume to the job boards, I haven't recieved any hits just yet. In an effort to move out of my comfort zone, I'm going to attend a networking event next week. I'm optimistic since the firm that is hosting the event has a few positions available that I'm interested in. I've already applied via their site but maybe I can meet someone who is directly affiliated with the hiring managers.
In other news, I applied for two jobs with XXX. I haven't heard anything as of yet. The site informs me that I have passed initial qualification requirements but nothing beyond that. A couple of nights ago I was checking out the LinkedIn site and found that one of my co-workers actually worked for XXX a few years go. Yesterday, I was having a conversation with another co-worker and she informed me that she used to work for "Tommy" and she'll introduce me to him the next time he's on the floor. A few hours later, she brings him over to my desk and we have a short discussion me applying and the process. He then referrs me to "Bob" who worked in a regional office of XXX versus the national office. He tells me to give him a call and use him as a reference. Lets hope all of this "networking" is worth it.
The 5k walk is next weekend and with everything that is going on with my job, it doesn't look like I'll be able to make the trip to Little Rock to participate. I know my mom will be disappointed but understanding. I had considered driving but with all that's going on, I don't have the energy to make that drive alone. Besides that, I'll probably end up having to drive down for Thanksgiving. I keep trying to remind myself that I need to be more reserved with my spending until I have something else lined up.
The Vice Presidential debate is tonight and I'm torn. I want to be at church because Evangelist Hollis is preaching tonight for the singles ministry. However, I know that this debate will be like none other. In 2 years, I've never taken the time to figure out how to set the timer on my VCR...spoiled by that blasted DVR. What to do, what to do...
Oh, I know what to do...call this school and find out when I can start classes.
